Commonly Asked Questions

Who are the Wentzville Sea Dragons?  We are a team of 200+ kids from ages 5-18

When is the season?  We start the Tuesday after Memorial Day that practices from 7:00am until 8:30am, Monday through Friday during June and July.  We ask that kids make it to at least three practices per week.  There will be six meets over the summer during June & July with three at our home pool at Progress Park (Saturday mornings), and the other three on Monday evenings at pools in St Charles County.

What are the requirements?  A requirement for new swimmers is that they have to be able to swim at least 25 meters, unassisted, without touching the pool bottom.  We also require parents to work half of each meet that their children swim.  At our home meets, it takes about 70 adults from our team to make it run smoothly.  Parents also sign up to bring a specific concession item to home meets, which we sell at our concession stand as our fundraiser.

When is registration?  Returning family registration begins in March.  New Family registration is  Saturday April 21st from 7am-9am at the Green Lantern, 506 South Linn Ave, Wentzville.   One important item is that we will add Wentzville city residents before non-residents.  This will be evidenced by a paid tax receipt to the city.

How much does it cost?  The cost per year has been $85 per swimmer for Wentzville residents.  The non-resident fee will be an extra $10 per swimmer.  We also have a team suit.  However, it is not a requirement, as the cost is around $50-60 per suit.
